Harrison Ford was born on
July 13, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois. His maternal grandmother and
grandfather were Jewish immigrant from
Minsk, Belarus. They emigrated to New York in 1907 and later in 1917 was born
Dorothy, Harrison’s mother. Dorothy got married to with Christopher
Ford, an actor, who was an advertising executive, of Irish and German ancestry.
Harrison has received a name of his grandfather.
Ford arrived in California in
1964. Firstly, he wanted to work for the radio, but then signed a contract with
Columbia Pictures, and began playing small roles, getting $ 150 per week.
But money was not enough and
Harrison had to feed the family. Ford began working as a carpenter. In
addition, he worked part time as a stagehand at the concert of the famous band
called ‘The Doors’. Again Harrison Ford became an actor by accident. One day,
the director of "Star Wars" George Lucas wanted was need to
install cabinets in the house - and he hired a carpenter, Harrison Ford.

Fame
After meeting with Lucas,
carpentry for Harrison was over. Lucas asked him to read some scripts from
“Indiana Jones”. Four years later "Indiana Jones" came to screens and
Harrison Ford became a superstar.

for his iconic roles as Han Solo and Indiana Jones But he had a lot of roles in
his career, about 73 credits as an actor. His trademarks are:

After VII episode of Star Wars
called “The Force Awakens” Harrison became the highest grossing actor in
history. Films in which he starred during his career, earned a total of $ 4.7
billion.
On 6 January a Hollywood
Reporter said ‘after three weeks in the US and Canada a new episode of
"Star Wars" grossed a 758.2 million dollars, this is 8 million more
than the previous record holder - the blockbuster of 2009, "Avatar".

the most expensive in Hollywood history. After all, according to the signed
agreement Mellisa left marriage with a check for 85 million dollars.
2. Ford is an excellent pilot, in his own fleet there are
seven aircrafts which he used to travel between his homes in New York and
Wyoming.

Yes! Harrison Ford it's great actor. One of my favorite I guess.
ReplyDeleteI remember him from "Blade Runner", all Indiana Jones movies, Expendables and of course "Star Wars" I've got also a few favorite moments in his acting, for example in newest Star Wars when they tried to find Rey.
I can't find that scene.... maybe someone know what I'm talking about?

Interesting thing. Back then, Harrison Ford was sick, he was supposed to start fight from the bad guy, but he had no strength. That's why he shoot him. It was great and funny, and that's why this scene was finally in the movie.
Thats it! His acting as Indiana is so live! Think that Harrison is one the most charismatic figure in the Holywood.
DeleteThanks for the article, normally I don't read about actors, people lives. I like this actor, however I know him only from films you mentioned (star wars, indiana jones). After seeing the list of films where he is present I should recognize him in Blade Runner, but I've never watched it carefully.

DeleteHarrison Ford has always been one of my favourite actors, ever since I saw the Raiders of the Lost Arc. He starred in a lot of big movies and played many memorable roles in his youth, and now it's nice to see him continue the streak.
ReplyDeleteI didn't even imagine that such famous person became actor by accident, starting from being a carpenter, becoming an actor who stays on scene of almost 40 years right now. He was my childhood hero as Indiana Jones I still watch sometimes those movies during sunday afternoon :)

ReplyDeleteYeah, I like him as an actor, probably Indiana Jones is also the movie that impressed me the most. I don't watch movies that often though, so I don't have that much to add, still, he's a pretty decent actor.

ReplyDeleteI associate him the most with movies like Indiana Jones and Crossing Over ("Ścigany"). I know that he appeared in many different popular film productions, but I don't watch too many movies.

I like the guy, though I don't really know a lot of movies he starred in, except for Star Wars and Indiana Jones. However, a quick IMDB search tells me I've actually seen quite a lot, K-19, Apocalypse Now, Blade Runner, just to name a few.
ReplyDeleteI love Harisson, he's at his best at most of the roles he gets. He saved so many movies it's a funny thing to read that it was a lot of coincidence of him becoming so famous. But it's obviously always like that, it's about a moment and an opportunity.

I love his acting style and the roles he played. He’s one of the best blockbuster actors. In his action movies, he may not do legit stunts, but he certainly goes further than the most actors. His reactions are just fantastic. He has the ability to generate empathy in us, and I think that speaks highly to his acting chops.

It's a great thing that the accident made him an actore because I really like his acting. Indiana Jones is a classic and I've watched all of the movies severall times. Now I can't imagine Star Wars or Indiana Jones without him.

Those facts about Harrison Ford were very interesting. I like the way how he acts very much, he is one of my most favourite actors. I know also an intersting fact about him, that is that he loves to make furniture from wood. I like stories about people that created something or became famous by accident.

Yeah, like almost everyone I tend to like him for his world-class roles, but nothing over average. He's not my favourite actor. Lets say, if there is a movie in the cinema with Harrison Ford, I wouldn't go to see it just because of Ford. Assuming that I'm going to the cinema anyway. However, if it's true what the author of the article said about Fords personal life, I respect him for that. I value actors that keeps their privacy for themself. It's one of the worst things selling of, because someone pay money for that and other someone will read it.

Maybe this will sound weird, but I love Harrison! He's one of my favourite actors, mostly due to his portrayals as Han Solo in Star Wars franchise and as Indiana Jones. I mean, he was also brilliant as Jack Ryan, in two film adaptations of John Clancy's bestselling book series, or Dr Richard Kimble in excellent "The Fugitive" with co-starring Tommy Lee Jones, but Han and Indiana are the characters with whom Harrison gained my limitless and everlasting liking.

ReplyDeleteI do in his early movies, I hate him in newest Indiana Jones. He is getting too old for this sh*t, I'm actually glad that he won't be in 8th part of SW (although it's kinda sad for his character).
