Week 12: Crossfit

What is CrossFit? The simplest answer is: an effective way to get fit.
For whom? Anyone can do it.

Crossfit is a combination of many techniques of sports and a wide variety of
functional movements. We can find: weightlifting, squats, gymnastics, pullups,
push-ups, running, rowing, and others.

Check it:

It comes from the USA where the participants are: kids, cops, firefighters,
soccer moms, Navy SEALS, and grandmas all do CrossFit.

WOD - "workout of the day" - the high-intensity training, your goal in a day.

The CrossFit Nasty Girls - workouts that check our progress are called with
Ladies’ names. A list of official training at the link below.

Crossfit is a fitness program that combines functional movements into a timed
or scored workout. Always varied, always changing, always producing
results, so you can monitor your progress.

Hour-long classes at "boxes".
Typical classes:

WOD
stretching

Most of the training is short. But! Because it is short it takes place at a
rapid pace and is very intense. It can also be for people who do not have
much time. During a training exercise, CrossFit gets some exercise, and your
task is to check how many reps you manage to perform at a certain time. For
example, training may consist of push-ups and you'll have one minute to do
as many push-ups as you can. So you can spend in the gym from 20 to 30 minutes.

You should always have some support. Community CrossFit is really a team, and the people with whom you train are like members of your team. If you have ever
trained with CrossFit, you know what I mean. When you enter the gym, people will welcome you with open arms. Coaches will push, but also support – these are highly trained motivators. They will support you to finish your workout. Returning to the ordinary gym, probably the most you will miss the people who can motivate you to perform a few more reps. This is one of the biggest advantages of CrossFit.

What do people think having a first contact with CrossFit?

You see a group of people on their feet. Someone  sat down against the wall. Sweat is everywhere, but you can see a smile on their faces. Contrary to appearances, they feel good.
Although this is what I just did, it's blood, sweat, and tears I feel great.

Let me introduce the champ:

preparation and probably support from coaches.

  2. I think there's a crossfit craze at the moment. It is pretty popular because it gives you quite good results in relatively short time. But definitely it is not the easiest fittness plan. I reckon that not every body can follow it's rules because it's all about intensity of a training. When I was running regularly I was diversifying my plan with crossfit once or twice a week. The proper crossfit training is really demanding and I don't think it's for everybody, not for couch potato for sure!

  4. I’ve tried Cross Fit and other types of programs like that e.g. Body Pump which you can do and Holmes Place. Every program which forces a person to move and burn some fat is excellent as long as it is done under professional supervision so that one does not end up on one of those YouTube videos. The only drawback is that you have to have the will and free time to enjoy. Even though its winter time and it’s hard to run around or go on a bicycle I do cross country skiing which is a lot of fun and very easy to learn!

  5. CrossFit is a wonderful sport. Dynamic exercises, quick results and many exciting events. I tried a few times but each time I was fascinated :). An additional advantage of this sport is the fact that it can be practiced anywhere. Of course, the best place is the gym or a special hall. However, if you do not have the possibility, practice where you want.
At home, in the park etc.
I recommend to watch a few movies, such as competition sponsored by Reebok:

  6. What do you think about crossfit?
Crossfit is a great way to work out.
Its look much more dynamic way to keep your body fit than simple exercise in a gym, which in comparison to crossfit look very static.

Would you like to try it?
    Sure thing! It look's great.

Can you see its benefits for you?
Any form of exercise is beneficial. It just seems to look more interesting than basic workout.

  7. As I know, crossfit is one of the newest forms of activity which becomes more and more popular now. It's very interesting because it connects a lot different exercises in one training. Mix of swimming, workout with heavy weights and gymnastics provides great influence on human body. I would really like to try it because it seems to be enjoyable and for sure it doesn't become boring after short time. I have a friend which is actual champion of Poland in this discipline. According to his example, that's great way to be in extremely good condition

  8. I would describe CrossFit as a way of taking care of the health, strenght,
condition and figure, and at the same time it can become somebody's hobby,
or even passion. Even though I exercise for many years, both in the gym and
at home, so far I haven't try any workout focusing on so many different
physical areas. I was always most interested in building mass and strength,
so maybe I could try something new, such as CrossFit some day. Development
in the other physical areas would be a great benefit for me
