  1. Well, I don't listen to podcasts, but I watch a lot of kovies and listen a lot of books, so my english isn't that bad..... same goes for french.
But I do agree, that this kind of thing will help a lot in learning a language....

  2. I have never listened to radio podcasts, although after reading this article I think they are pretty interesting. Maybe I'll even try listening to some. I don't usually pay attention to what's playing in my headphones as I treat it as background. I like musicals a lot and I think they may be similar to audio podcasts in some way. Both have a storyline but surely it wouldn't take 9 months to listen to them like it was the case with those shows. It is possible to learn English as long as you are an auditory learner, at least that's what I believe. Personally I prefer books or movies in the original language. Do I have my own combination of learning and having fun? It depends. When I have to learn something I take it seriously and do it as straightforward as I can. When I'm studying for myself I get creative. I'll give you my friend as an example, as it's rather funny. Few years ago she was moving to Norway with basic knowledge of the language. In her house she labeled everything with little cards with the objects names written on them. Imagine the entire house covered in paper. It looked ridiculous but what's more important it was effective. Summing up, I think the podcasts can bring lots of possibilities, be it learning or entertainment. It is definitely worth trying and I'll surely will try it myself.

  3. I like podcasts, but I choose only those in specific fields that I like (mainly science and game development). It's an awesome idea to improve one's language skills, that's for sure. My husband was not really good in terms of English vocabulary, but since he started working in American company, he has to listen to skype conferences every now and then. He's getting better and better in talking because of this.

If you're open for something unusual, I recommend listening to radio broadcast that appeared in one old computer game, Vampire Bloodlines. It's not very long, but developers of this game had a lot of fun coming up with ideas of weird callers, funny commercials and conspiracy theories. Awesome pearl in Easter Egg universe. :)

  4. Podcasts are great! people attach to presenters who lead interesting programs. That's why so eager are returning to the next episodes.
The problem with podcasts is often little financial outlay. What makes the programs often lose their vigor over time. Of course, not all but even the really good though interesting opinions and approaches, suffer from the money.
I personally listen to while doing other things. And it's good because on the one hand, deals with the duties and on the other I listen to news from the world of IT.

  5. I don't listen to podcasts regularly, but it happens from time to time. My motivation to do so is to improve my passive English skills. I don't listen to podcats in any other language. I also don't subscribe to any podcast so when I want to listen to it I have to google it beforehand. I think I am not a great fun of podcasts. I couldn't listen to them just for fun. I prefer (audio)books or movies and TV serries. Podcasts might be good as a source of knowledge, but I am afraid that I get distracted too easily while listening so that way of learning just doesn't suit me, I guess.

  6. Back in the day in when I had an iPod I use to listen to a lot of podcasts as they would upload automatically whenever something new would come out. Podcasts are a great way of finding out new and interesting things. I think that podcasts gave their way to videocasts as most mp3 players these days have a large color screen where you can watch videos. Non the less, back in the day they were definitely a thing to listen to…

  7. Some time ago I was listening to some podcasts from abroad to get a glimpse of how it is to live in that place.. that was long ago before I started traveling. I could just listen to people in different places in the US or Canada and imagine how it is, hear from them about their daily lives and what's going on there. I never liked news because by nature they bring up only negative emotions and manipulate people by making them hate things, people and places. Many podcasts presented things as they were - good, nice, portraying the reality of places and people living in those places that I hadn't yet explored. Good times. Now I'm replying to this message from Hong Kong - one of the places I listened to podcasts from when I was much younger. It helped shaping the experience for me.

  8. Do you listen to podcasts? If you do - what are your favorite ones?
Yes I do listen to podcasts on YouTube, however my podcasts are about technology, programming or scripting. I like anything that comes with some beneficial value.

Are there any Internet shows you listen to / watch regularly that are not podcasts? Which ones? How are they distributed?
I think that most of them will end up on YouTube anyway, however they usually have a website dedicated to promote it. I don't watch them too often. Only when I have some free time that is not allocated by something else.

I come out in this post as a hardcore podcasts junkie / podcast nerd. I don’t think I ever did talk about this to the extent before. Do you have things in your live that you are as passionate about? Movies? TV shows? Books? Music bands? Video games?

Sure. I think everyone have at last one thing they like. I am fan of good movie and good book. From time to time I also play some game, it is a great way to clear up your mind.

Do you have your own ways of combining learning and having fun?
I think now a days some games can be very educational. Course not all games... But believe or not there are some that are really good fun and stimulate brain in a very effective way.

  9. Actually, the therm "podcast" is completely unfamiliar to me. All my connections to music are based on something that I've experienced before. In simple words it means - radio, television and single songs on YouTube. According to definition of podcast in the I understand it - my experience has nothing on common with it. About things which I would describe as something that are my passion - my passion is made up by things associated with some kind of sport activity, music is only addition
