Pedophilia is "the act or fantasy on the part of an adult of engaging in sexual activity with a child or children."
We hear very often, that an adult did molest a child, and it usually ends pretty bad. The most terrible thing from last few years, happened in Austria, when a pedophile kept his own daughter in a basement for 20 years, and even had kids with her. All albino, because they had never seen a sunlight....
Yesterday Swedish court decided to accept and adoption apeel for an ex-con. He was accused and charched guilty of molesting a five year old, and was a main suspect in raiping a fourteen year old. Why does it happen? Apparentely, after age of 60 you "change"....

An alcoholic is an alcoholic for the rest of his life. So you don't give them any alcohol, or they'll relapse.
Pedophile is something like that, in my opinion. So why tempt the faith?

With alcoholism is so good that the person most frequently destroys himself even though it happens to hurt loved ones. With pedophiles problem is more complex. Because the wounds remain on the psyche are too strong for them to ever forget.
I think the law should be stricter in this regard. 0 tolerance for such people. The idea of tattooing such people to be known from afar with whom we associate is not a bad idea.
I thing that men should just chop his "this" and the problem is resolve! and much cheaper? in prison normal people must pay for thair provading living... and why?

In my opinion the ex-convict shouldn't be given that opportunity, although sexual preference is not something anybody decides on. It's something you are born with. But as long as you don't commit a crime I believe there is nothing wrong. It's not anybody's fault he was born with such a tendency.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, comparing a pedophile to an alcoholic is ridiculous. I believe that any addiction or habit can be eliminated. It is a matter of both, mind and body. If you eliminate the psychological part, the physical will go away too. Pedophilia is something you cannot leave even if wanted.
Sometimes pedophilia (or, rather, a pedophilic behaviours) comes from mental disorders and can be treated. However, most of the time a perfectly "normal" person develop this kind of sexual tendency and trying to cure him is like electroshocking gay people to make them change their mind. I'm not sure about the whole marking thing though. If a person can live normally inside society without commiting any crime against children, why should he or she be marked and avoided by everyone? The problem here is lack of sufficent punishment - the guy who raped a child should be condemned to 25 years of physical labor. Or more.
ReplyDeleteRegardless to source of that problem, pedophiles should be permanently excluded from society. Unfortunately it's almost impossible to apply any prevention,only after something bad happen they can be punished. Good side of that (I know, it sounds evil) is that in prison they lives turn into hell. This is a punishment they deserved, it's even too less in comparison with completely destroyed life of particular child.

ReplyDeleteOn the one hand, an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. So any kind of corporal punishment. For example, the above-mentioned tattoos and various cutting. The question is whether this is a good way for the modern man? On the other hand we have a jail. Overcrowded, paid for by the community. Why and for whom do I pay?
There are many questions, there are many solutions. There isn't right answer, there isn't good solution. The first but long step in my opinion, should be education and fast prevention.

ReplyDeleteHmmm... It is very individual for each ex-convict. Some will never change and when they are free they strike again. On the other hand there are some that really regret what they did and they want to get better. Unfortunately those are rather rear scenarios. The big question is.. Can we do anything to stop this to be a pattern. Prison should to be a place to re-socialise convicts, so once they are released they at last try to be honest and better citizens.
I think that paedophiles can't be cured and if they are dangerous to others they should be locked up.
