  1. It happened few times that I checked meaning of a symbol in a dream. I can't say if it was proper interpretation or just maybe I suggested the meaning to myself. Unfortunatelly 90% times when I wake up I don't remember what was I dreaming about. It is funny but today I remember my dream during short nap. It was like totally abstract and these kind of dreams I like the most. So the dream was that I took my cat and we went near a lake. I forced a cat to swim in the lake and I was close to him. The cat almost drown.. Then I rescued the cat on a beach. End of dream. Crazy, isn't it? And I fully agree that recent events could cause this plot of events in my abstract dream.

  2. I remember a lot of my dreams, maybe it's because I don't sleep very deeply (it's easy to wake me up). I noticed that I almost always dream when I am semi-sleeping. I like dreaming very much, it gives me a lot of fun and can "program" me for a day.
I tried few times to interpret my dreams, but it's like fortune telling- very high level of generality and abstraction.
Few days ago I dreamed about... singing jellies. I don't want to know what Freud would tell about it :)

  3. Books that try to reveal the symbolic of dreams are hilarious, as dream is something that is fully produced by your mind, and no one can tell you what images in your mind means to you, but your self.
For example, if you will dream of a snake, the book will tell you that it probably means treason or whatever. The thing is, that you should ask your self what sneake means to you, what do you associate snake with.
Dream is nothing mystical. Its a letter from your subconscious part of mind to your consciousness part of mind. and subconscious handles the language of symbols, so if you are able to decipher all symbols that has appeard in your dream, you can interpretate your dream very easily.
I remember my dream very rarely, I always keep the record of thoes which made strong impression on my for some reason, and then try to interpretate it.

  4. I have heard or read somewhere that only emotion filling your dream matters and only emotion is true. It tells you about your current emotional state of your brain, your fears, hopes, anger.

But I think there is there is something more in dreams. They reveal sometimes other hidden activities of your brain. At least few times in my past my dreams helped me to resolve serious problems I was working on. I was going to bed exhausted after hours of conceptual thinking unable to solve some puzzle, algorithm or process model. And then I had a dream. One time I was describing this algorithm to my brother, another time I was just talking to my wife that I know what was my mistake. Then It was my little baby son (3 months old this time) explaining me what I do wrong. And in all those cases, dreams although they did not reveal complete truth, helped me to find proper solution pointing some important spots I had to focus on.

And symbols in dreams? Maybe - but I think everybody have unique symbolic patterns and I do not believe any dream guides can be helpful. When I have some especially disturbing dream I make self-examination to find out what could be the reason. What happens inside my unconscious part of brain that results in such dreams. Maybe I need to slow down. Maybe I need to reduce stress level. Maybe I need to focus more on things that really matters to me. So yes all dreams have some meaning to me. Not all meanings are worth to discover though. For example why should I waste my time trying to understand why I was walking all day long backwards in my last dream?

  5. For me is very difficult to interpretation a dream ,everyone can be based on their own emotions which are present in dreams, a very know type of sleep is the so-called DE JAVU where we feel that such a situation or spoken words has already taken place.
For a few days I had a dream that I am speaking at a conference on the construction of aircraft which is not completely importance to me but who knows, maybe it's some sign :)

  6. In my opinion dreams must be connected with our hidden desires, experiences from our childhood, our fears or anxieties etc. Since they are created in our minds, there is no way they are not based on our feelings and emotions. However, I do not really believe that any of them can be associated with the future. Some of the books that have been written about symbolism of dreams or something like that tell us that we can see in our dreams the events that will occur. This is over-interpretation for me. Nevertheless, I agree with those books which are based on scientific experiments and explain why we dream of certain things. When it comes to me, I dream a lot and I usually remember what I dream about. My dreams are often connected with my current situation, with what I am worried or excited about. It happens also that I have nightmares, like everyone, but more often I just dream about things that have already happened in my life, about my experiences.

  7. In my opinion everyone dream is individual. You cannot interpret it by dictionary or something. If that would be true, what about dreams of blind people? (Which contains smells, sounds etc.) If (in example) dreams about mushrooms means money, that means blind people should be aware of mushroom smell while they are sleeping? What about person which haven't ever seen such thing? Or there are special dictionary for them?!
What about animals, they also have special "books" for their dreams?*

From my point this is another lie which help some people make money.

Usually I do not want to remember my dreams, because remebering them will not change anything in my real life. If I were magician for 20 min during night does that mean anything? I do not think so.

If you want to remeber your dream i suggest you to write them down. I ensure you that you will able to recall that particular dream even after years.

  8. What do you think about dream interpretation?

It seems to me that something like that is. Overall, I'm curious about the psychology of the subconscious areas and the ability of the human mind. Sometimes I read a book on this subject and I also like to watch movies that talk about topics about psychology. It seems to me that people who have knowledge and skills in the area of psychology can do a lot more business in the area and the relationship between human beings. I heard about the use of different methods of dream interpretation in order to help people who are mentally ill or who have such a variety of phobias.

Is that helpful or Is That just superstition?

Skills involved in reading dreams have been developed over the centuries. They are among us people who actually are able to do so. It is a very specific skill, which to some extent can be learned - it seems to me, however, that you also need additional personal predispositions.

    Are you dreaming? What about?

Last I do not remember what I dreamed.

  10. Many people are not fans of Freud and I belong to them. Certainly Freud was one of the first people who started to develop psychology officially, which, moreover, is the latest recognized as a science. You may find it interesting that the chemistry is not officially recognized as a science, because nobody does not have the analytical laws that explain chemical phenomena taking place, we can only come to conclusions experimentally. But returning to the topic I think that Sigmund Freud filled the same role for psychology as Carolus Linnaeus for Biology. I hope you remember from school that Karol Linnaeus tried to classify animals and because he was the first who did this on such a large scale, that made him famous, he also made a lot of mistakes, but he has been written to history as the precursor to today and nowadays kids are still learning about it. For me Frojd in psychology is the equivalent of Carl Linnaeus in biology. So I presented one example to prove that it is still very hard to research peoples dreams, I think that maybe in future we can better understand this aspect of life.
Today the scientists say that the understanding of dreams need true research into long term medicine analysis, it is called “fact medicine” this idea’s basic rule is to explore the specific population for about 50 years and then may reveal some new dependencies. Therefore at a present day I’m thinking about dreams reading rather as a superstition than anything else.
“Are you dreaming? What about?” – Of course I’m dreaming and sometimes I even remember my dreams but I’m afraid that my dreams are not usual. Always when I’m trying to tell these stories to anyone they find it incomprehensible, chaotic and a little grotesque :)

  11. I remember most of my dreams. Even when I am not able to describe exactly what I have dreamed about, I know whether my dream was positive or negative.

Also, I have noticed that often my dreams affect my mood. For instance, when I dream about something unpleasant, after waking up my mood is bad and all day I am thinking why I had such a bad dream. I do not know if I believe in dream interpretation, but certainly through our dreams our subconscious wants to tell us something :)
