First image presents a wooden book holder. It's a perfect soultion when someone needs you in the middle of a book. You can put the book without damaging the spine or looking for a bookmark.
The second thing is also amazing - a clear book cover/holder. Great for outdoors so the wind doesn't blow your pages.
And the third one - a bookmark that will help you remember where you stopped reading.

LEGO LUNCH BOX

This gadget will bright up every lunch break at school or work. It might look a little bit childis but who cares.

CREATIVE TEA INFUSERS

pablomatteoda.blogspot.com/2009/03/sharky-tea-infuser-3th-prize-beyond.html

Hot, iced, in various flavours. Tea is the most widely consumed beverage in the world next to water. The creativeness in those tea infusers is great and gives extra fun making tea. I would really like to have one of those, would you?

PAPER CHESS SET

chroniclebooks.com/titles/paper-chess-set.html

This is just brilliant. This set was released by the publishing house ‘Chronicle Books’.
You can take it everywhere and don’t worry that is too heavy. It’s relatively not too
expensive(15$). You simply punch out the pieces and play.

What do you think about non digital gadgets presented?
Would you like to have some of those?

  1. In general I like even more the non digital gadgets than digital ones. It still remains me that there exists things different then computers and machines. Especially I do like analog cameras like “Zenit” and the whole Lomography thing. Still with all programs like Photoshop or Gimp, I do appreciate more pictures made without computer processing.

Whenever I can see small kids that are 5 or 6 yo they have smartphones. Even my 13 months old nephew is not so interested in traditional toys, he is obsessed with “Roomba” vacuum cleaning robot and is observing how robot works all the time. I am very grateful that my childhood was years before such things were invented.

I really admire non digital gadgets presented above. The one that I like the most is “Lego lunch box”. It may sometimes seems that we are too old to buy, wear and even like gadgets that are rather for kids, but I guess it is good that we are not so serious about everything :)

In your presentation you mention about creative tea infusers which actually I love the most.
I have one of them Mr Tea guy which is really funny and looking gorgeous in a cup of tea :D
With these gadgets tea tastes much better !

Anyway non digital gadgets makes life happier and funnier. People when they see somthing like thes are smilling.
Design of these piece are incredible simple but so good and pretty that when you see these things you want them.
It is amazing how we could change our normal life with some little things like this.

Most of non digital gadgets you can find in Ikea or Tiger shops. This month when I was at the Ikea with my boyfriend I found a cool lamp that you can change her design. All you have to do is to pull lace and the lamp changes it shape.

  3. I really like gadgets like this :D Very often they are not really useful but they always are beautiful haha :D
Even when the main goal is to be useful it sometimes cannot doing its work - I like the idea with a glass cover on book, it's cool, and wind-proof, but reading would be rather tiring to raise it and put aside ;)

I like the lego-lunchbox but again, not really useful :D You cannot simply put it in your bag because it will take all the place...

But I really like tea stainers - they are useful and really good looking, it's the thing that will make your day better :) Simple, but entertaining :D Once I have bought the similar one, but you had to put the tea into the shell that closes. But the quality was extremely poor and it got broken after few uses :(

According to paper chess it is a great example of good and useful design :) As you said - it's light, easy to carry, I guess the price was also good so you don't have to take that much care of it.

According to your question about the non-digital gadget I'd like to have I would chose this useful one

    that's exactly what I need :D

  4. Katarzyna, I saw your Mister Tea Guy on 9gag, I didn't know you could by them in Poland. It really looks cool !
As for the first 2 page-holders – I don’t really see how they are so useful to be worth spending money, sorry :) Just another thing to keep in the room.
The third one, that's a different story. It would probably be inexpensive and is quite elegant little gadget. Perfect thing when you want to give someone a small gift, a nice little thing that not only looks elegant but is quite useful.
Maybe I am to conservative but I don't like the idea of carrying Lego-shaped lunch box to work :)

Really interesting examples, though. Good job, Weronika.

  5. I love these gadgets! I think all that tea stuff is funny and practical for sure (floating grounds aren't cool). Transparent book enchained my attention. When I take a break during book reading, I always leave it open, so, this is something for me.
Generally, non digital objects are more interesting, you can touch it, hold it in hand, have fun using it.
They're up on virtual space created by smartphones, iPads etc.
Simple solutions have advantage over digital gadgets. Kasia, this lamp from Ikea is really cool. In general, Ikea appreciate non digital stuff, even the catalogue :D

In general I'm pragmatic person and don't think that the first three positions are useful ( maybe the third but id depends ).
But I agree that non digital things are often more useful that digital.
Refers to article Lego lunch box is great :D
And the very simple and usefull "gadget".
    Stand for receipts

  8. For me gadgets must be useful from presented gadgets bookmark are nice but I rather prefer to read pdf books than paper books. About lego launchbox i would rather prefer to use normal hermetic foodbox than this. Presented tea infusers are also nice but I use tea already packed in paper infusers so I don't need that kind of gadgets. The last one are also really nice but I would rather use something like this .

  9. I like those gadgets - especially the ones that are not only pretty, but also practical (like some people stated in the comments, usefullness is a very important feature).

Collections of non-digital gadgets can be often found on joemonster.org:
    No. 1
    No. 2
    No. 3

The only thing I find troublesome is the price of these gadgets - often far higher than the price of a regular product. I'd love to have a house full of those, but I'd have to win a lottery to afford them! :)

  10. Such things always look good and make a useful impression, however after a week of using this kind of things become another prop that wasted space in your home.

  11. For me a gadget has to be useful in some way. The ingenuity and charm is not enough because if you don't need something, you'll forget about it sooner or later, and then the gadet will just take up place. I really like the gadgets you've shown us, especially the tea infusers. I've seen a lot of different designs for these but I believe these are one of the most appealing. I love the shark fin, wouldn't mind having one.

From other examples, paper clips came to my mind. They're very simple objects, and very useful, if not necessary, to organize your documents. I own vivid light green paper clips - maybe it's not that creative, but still more interesting than the plain metallic ones. Besides those having striking colors, there are paper clips in many various shapes like animals, letters or musical instruments and many others. Fantastic way to spice up boring pieces of paper.

  12. What do you think about non digital gadgets presented?
fun, but in general something I'm not really interested in. Someone mentioned cameras (analog vs digital) bla bla bla. We're in XXI century, so let's take advantage of it. To the tea infusers - add a thermometer and I'm sold.
Would you like to have some of those?
Depends. I have some, I think I'll buy some more for christmas, but most of them are useless. Like the glass bookholder. Just - why?
Do you know other cool non digital gadgets?
Lego Technic. Just give me one set and I'll be gone for hours.

  13. I am a geek and I like all kind of gadgets. I like looking at them, playing with them and use as frequently as I can. They improve our life and make it much more easier. Non digital gadgets are particularly interesting because they have to provide some functionality with out using any power supply. Of course they will not run of power and can by use any time. :)

I think most gadgets are very nice looking and at first they seems to be very useful, but in fact after some time they end up on the shelf as a decoration.

  14. It’s amazing how the creativeness of the people can change, with the only small design difference, the usual things into the extraordinary and useful ones! I always got crazy in Ikea, which is full of such things. According to the example of the tea infusers – how much more pleasurable is drinking tea with such an accessory? Moreover, these small and subtle things can not only make our mood better for the whole day, but also can change the décor of the flat. They can be the great decoration, besides of their usefulness. What’s more, the price for such things is usually not very high, which makes them even more demanded. That’s also the main advantage over the digital gadgets. Not even mentioning that how creative the designer has to be to hit on an idea of the design of such product.

  15. When it comes to all sorts of gadgets I like them a lot. Unfortunately, most of them is very expensive. But... your presentation shows a type of gadgets that are cool and not expensive (or relatively cheap) at the same time. It's interesting because in exchange for a small amount of cash you can get something really original and useful. From all those presented here I like wooden book holder the most.

  16. I’ve never been interested in such gadgets. I think these gadgets would be completely unnecessary for me. They would perhaps make a relief in simple works, which in fact, you can do yourself. Additionally, the price is really over the top, which even more discourages me from using those gadgets.

  17. Presented gadgets are very creative and usefull, but I could only use Lego lunch box in everyday life. All bookmarks and book holders look fine but I prefer read book in electronic format on my ereader. Also tea infusers are not for me because I use tea already packed in paper infusers like Cezary.

Here You can find one of the best non digital gadget for me.

  18. To me, if someone thinks about himself that he is creative he should have got creative things around made by others or by himself.
These gadgets are not just look pleasant but they are also really useful.
I love the idea of those bookmarks and book holders as I can imagine me use them I everyday life. They are simple but genius.
