I tried at least once a pen and paper RGP and I can tell You that I enjoyed it. I have a friend who is really into those kind of games and the thing which suprised me the most was the rule book. I did not understoond what people see in them until I got one for a moment. I could sit and read it for half an hour like it was nothing. I was suprised how really entertaining would be just studying the rules of the imaginary world I can play in.
I think those types of games are fun and create new bonds between friends. We can be creative, compete or cooperate at the same time with people we see everyday at work/school and talk about it later for hours.
I used to play pen and paper RPG. Now I can't find people, or time to do it again. I'm addicted to that kind of a game! I played in maney worlds, also those made up by my friends. It was so much fun! All the energy goes to your imagination, it builds it. That's no waste of time. You bond even more with your friends, you take action, and you feel same satisfaction of winning, or surviving, as in real life. So it takes away your stress. Gosh, I need RPG.... who want's to play?
I used to play few RPG games in the past. I also had one of this rulebook. I have read it from start to the end. I read it because i had to. The imaginary world was very complex and it was hard to start playing this game without knowing the basic rules. Nowadays I don not play them anymore. I simply don not have time for games. I also remember that i liked another type of games. Does anyone like to play strategy games? And if you do say which games did you play.
I had contact with that kind of activity many years ago but all what I did was creating a character to some play (no idea what was the name of that game). For now I don't think that I would enjoy such a game. About some idea of that RPG, in my opinion there is huge responsibility on game master. That is the person which has to manage whole story during play, keep in mind attributes of particular characters to make its story more interesting and needs flexible mind to provide interesting story
I never played a pen and paper RPG, though I had a chance to observe a session. I have to say that it was interesting to watch. My boyfriend is very passionate about RPGs and through him I've learned quite a few things about it. I think that Role Playing Games can be a lot of fun for people who are into them. From what I heard, the mixture of good narration and atmospheric music can create an immersion that lets the player enjoy the game for many hours. As for it's creative aspect I think the potential is huge. If the only restriction is ones imagination then the possibilities could be limitless. I think if I had a chance to play I would enjoy myself.
I always wanna try it, but lately didn't have friends to start play in it. Now i'm just can't feel it, and i really hate when i must lost my boyfriend for whole day just because he want's play it whith his friends.. much more i prefer playng computer version. For playd normal RPG u must meet with people, decide when, u can't just go and play when u want. When i didn't know when i will have time, or that my friends will have time and didn't forget about meeting i just prefer sit at home and play with people around a world :D
I have never played pen and paper role playing games. I am familiar with the concept due to having friends who have been telling me about those games. That said, while it can be a fun way of spending time for some people, to me it always sounded a little too out of this world and time consuming ;-) I'm sure it stimulates imagination and is a great way to spend time for fantasy fans. It also scores extra points for being more social than playing computer games. But, in my imagination they are for people who value very particular way of spending time, and somehow they were never that appealing to me personally. Still, they are somehow interesting to read about.
