Week 6 [02.11 - 08.11.2015] Robert Lewandowski

Robert Lewandowski

Robert Lewandowski was born in 1988. He started his football career very early, when he was 6 Robert’s mum signed him up for football lessons. When he started training football, other children called him „Bobek”. Sport was a common activity in Lewandowski’s family. His mother and sister were training volleyball whereas father was a great fan of football and judo. His story with „the highest league” started in Borussia Dortmund , where he started his proffessional career as a football striker. After 5 years he became so popular and experienced football player that both president and coach of Bayern Munich decided to transfer him to Bayern Munich.

Recently we have heard about Robert Lewandowski’s amazing match. A Polish striker, who plays for Bayern Munich, came  as  a substitute at half-time when Bayern Munich was losing 0-1 to Wolfsburg. Shortly after his  appearance on the pitch,  Lewandowski scored FIVE GOALS within 9 minutes (8 minutes 59 sec)! He is going to be a legend of German and Polish history of football.

Unbelievable!

Twitter, Facebook and the world is crazy about him!

He broke records:
  • ·             Fastest 3 goals in Bundesliga - 3min 22sec
  • ·             Fastest 4 goals in Bundesliga - 5min 42sec
  • ·             Fastest 5 goals in Bundesliga – 8min 59sec
  • ·             Lewandowski is the first substitute in Bundesliga to score five
  • ·             It was the first time in 24 years that somebody has scored five goals in a Bundesliga match – since Tönnies against Karlsruhe.

Pep Guardiola's  reaction  when  Robert Lewandowski scored the fifth goal:

Coach about Lewandowski :
"I've never experienced such a thing, either as a coach or as a player," he said.

"Five goals in nine minutes. I am very happy for Robert. You play poorly for 45 minutes and then grab five goals in nine minutes. I cannot explain it."

Robert Lewandowski:
„It was an amazing evening for me. I entered the pitch to help the team. I did help and that is the most important for me! I would personally like to thank everyone for the congratulations coming from all over the world. dear media representatives please understand my lack of accessibility caused by the numerous duties at the club. We play every 3 days and I must focus on the next game now! Again, thank you to all my fans. RL9min”

For me Robert Lewandowski is one of  the top players in the world. I think that Lewandowski, Ronaldo and Messi are on the top of this list. I wish Robert Lewandowski won Fifa Ballon d’Or , the trophy for the best football player.

Should he win Fifa Ballon d’Or ( a trophy for the best football player) ?

  1. Surely scoring 5 goals in 9 minutes is impressive, but that's not enough to be the best football player. As you quoted the coach: "You play poorly for 45 minutes and then grab five goals". Consistency is a very important factor as well.

  2. This not only one achivement of Lewandowski. He is incredeble player, and coaches at Bayern who have helped him to improve only boosting his goals ratio. Now it about 1.51 per 90 minutes.
@(c)“People have been asking me if I’m playing the best football of my career,” Lewandowski told ShortList. “Maybe it is but I still hope I can get better. I know I can get better.”

  3. Impressive results, it's always nice to see an aspiring guy constantly improving himself, aiming to be the best. Even if I don't like football at all, I must admit that it's awesome.

  6. It is known that as a Pole I wish the best to Robert, but I think he has a very well-known and distinguished rivals, so the chances are rather small. "Bobek" is definitely a world-class player, but not as famous as Messi and Ronaldo who are this year's favorites. Robert skills are impressive, so I hope that next time he will win the Fifa Ballon d'Or and he will become the most liked player in the world.

  7. Should he win Fifa Ballon d’Or? I wish him that, why not? His time is right now. I’m not a football fan, I don’t like it as a corporation, not a sport or activity itself. But it doesn’t change that I wish him all the best.

I heard some time ago, propably on the radio, that winning, being succeed in my own club, where I’m playing every day is one thing. But to really raise the value of myself as a football player, I have to show myself from the best side in a national representation. I think, it’s exactly what Lewandowski did.

  8. It's very impressive results. Honestly I'm not a football fan... I hate football! There's a lot more interesting sports. Volleyball, basketball, quidditch.

However, I'm glad that he promotes Poland so good. If even someone who hates football is impressed by his results, that mean he's great at whatever he's doing

    1. Thank you for your opinion. Maybe, you should go to a football match and see live ;) In the stadium it is quite different than the tv ;)

  9. As a Polish guy I wish him luck to be at the very top, but you know football is a hard business. He did an incredible job with 5 goals in 9 minutes. That's the striker job, to score goals after all. But still we need to remember and glorify all midfielders that helped him achieve that ! Because most of those goals wouldn't be there if not midfielders.
I am not as big fan as I was before but I still follow some events in football world, but I think that Lewandowski is a world-class player, we should be happy for him and wish him all the luck that he needs and hopefully he will be known as a star like Ronaldo or Messi ;)

  10. It's great that Poland has such sportsmen as Robert Lewandowski. This is arguably the best Polish footballer. That's what he did in the match against Wolfsburg was amazing. Five beautiful goals in nine minutes against a good team is unimaginable.

I am particularly pleased that thanks to Robert our national team is much better. The fact that throughout the qualification for Euro 2016 we played well is associated with his person.

Should he win a trophy the best player? Difficult for me to judge, because I not enough interest in football.

  11. Robert Lewandowski recently has done a huge progress. He is very good player and and he shoots a lot of goals. In my opinion it’s worth asking whether he is good enough to receive such a prestigious award? Is he the best of the best players? Are there better players than Lewandowski? Of course he is very talented and I wish him all the best. I’m very happy that he promotes Poland abroad.

  12. It's very imppresing what he achive in last few years. He is very talented and famous around the world, but i don't know if he would be popular and know, like for example Pele, in the next 10-20 years.

  13. One of the best Polish player with impressive records in Bundesliga(one of the best football league in the world). It will be hard to win Fifa Ballon d’Or , because of very high competition, but he have little chance to win. Recently he achieved a few successes: he broke some records in bundesliga, he qualified with Polish team to EURO 2016, he is best scorer of EURO 2016 qualifiers, now he is leading top scorer of Bundesliga and he have chance to become best scorer in Champions League(second place, difference of one goal with first place)

  14. It is really amusing what he has done in that match, but I’m not really sure if it is enough to obtain most prestigious personal football player award. He belongs to top players worldwide, but others also have many achievements they can be proud of.

  15. We should be all proud that we have such good player from our country. He is well known all over the world and still has a lot of time to achive even more. As for the trophy it is quite obvious I want him to win because he's my fellow countryman.

  16. Robert is for sure great football player what he proved in match with Wolfsburg. It was his day and it was really impressive. But I think in this year he won't win awards for the best player in the world. He plays better and better from year to year and I wish he will dominate next years.

I hope robert will stick to the cooperation with our team. We could see that for recent years his attitude towards training and playing here in poland was quite bad, the players didn't get too well and that was probably a partial reason for our poor results in many years. I hope it will change now, as we can notice an improving situation in polish football, we're no more considered as the worst team, that is no threat for anyone.

  18. I'm not a football fan, like most of men (or at least, men I know), but when I heard of this, I was pretty impressed. Don't get me wrong, Lewandowski is a great football player, no doubt about that, but unfortunately, in my opinion, there are better than him who are more deserving of the prize.
