  1. I find these alternative ways of treatment particularly interesting. And the placebo effect.

It's really fascinating thing, some people may dont know that pain isn't real, it's the way of our brain telling us "HEY, SOMETHING IS GOING ON THERE". Pain happens only in our brain, it's effect of processing various signals from our body. What if some of these are false alarms? How do we fix those? Of course there are things like painkillers, which affect our body/brain in a specific way which we can control.

Now I can imagine people who happen to have problems which we can't really fix by scientificly proved methods which tells us they're perfectly fine, yet they feel bad. Those people sometimes reach for alternative medicine and surprisingly get themself fixed. They simply trick themself. Our brain is still mysterious for us, we still haven't firgured out how it really work and the fact that placebo effect is working for some people is really amazing.

Now imagine one day we will figure that one out. You wont have to be checked in a various ways to get your diagnosis. We will simply "connect" to your brain to analyse whats going on and fix it immediately. It will be like a "check engine" light in your car, in case of pain you will use some device and get diagnosis just like that. If everything is OK and you're just feeling bad, you will be "reset" and problem would be gone. Amazing stuff.

  2. I think, that alternative medicine is an interesting initiative. It should be used if nothing else works. From the psychological point o view it makes sense if we use it as a placebo. Traditional medicine should include some solutions from the alternative medicine only in the above situation

  3. I think that in the future may be the perfect solution. However, if we pretend that we treat someone and it is not really. From a psychological point of view of the patient is good, because it feels safe.

  4. Alternative Medicine for me is not very reliable source of medical knowledge. It is a bit of divination. While part of the problem is solvable with herbs or wraps for some strange plants, most need a good diagnosis of diseases, supported by research. People do not know what they really hurt, especially as a stranger can do this without testing? Alternative Medicine certainly works and is effective, but the placebo effect dominates the knowledge that it hides under. I personally prefer traditional medicine, which has its roots has always been a learning experience consisting of many people.

  5. In my opinion sicknes is not only what we should worry about. When we are sick it is already to late. We should care about our body when we are health, to hold in that state.
About alternative medicine, it is problematic topic. Maybe we just don't know our body to determine the impact on us the specific method. In "the dark ages" bloodletting was medicine for everthing :)

  6. Alternative medicine seems to sound mysterious enough to be able to consider it as risky. I do not believe that it helps to reduce the number of diseases in our life. Obviously, there must be something in it that people use it and claim to be content with this kind of treatment. I have ever tried it, so I cannot be sure of its quality but rather rely on usual doctors who have finished normal medicine courses. What is more, every single person need totally different approach and another sort of treatment. When it comes to alternative medicine, I would not be that convinced that it does not imply any risk… However, when someone suffers from headache and decides to go to acupuncture place, it means that they must believe in it. Then comes placebo, so they convince themselves that acupuncture is the solution for their problems. Concluding, alternative medicine is good for those who need only hope and conviction that everything is alright and it should be controlled by those who can diminish the possible risk.

  7. Hey, i see your comments! wow, you guys really think the main point of alt. medicine is magic?

As Łukasz wrote, it is all about placebo. I would say that this type of medicine really depends on what disease do we fight with. You should definitely take a look at this video.

This is the alternative medicine for me. It is all about what we have in our minds. Medicine gave no chances to this man, but his belief was his alternative medicine, he was strong enough to believe that one day he could walk again. And he has achieved his goal. When i just sit there and try to figure out how does it work, that thing seems sooo sooo huge to me, because it is so unreal, that with the power of will we can make our body defend itself, and fight with the disease... but i guess it is true, our brain is the control center of our body and i guess the state of consciousness gives the input data to be processed and the then the output comes out (sounds stupid i know... :) ). If we could have mastered the art of the alternative medicine, please use it more and more because it develops our ability to control our body with our minds...

  8. Personally, I think there is nothing wrong with trying alternative medicine when fighting with the long-lasting disease or pain. Even though,I am sometimes a bit sceptical if the treatment is going to work, there is no harm in trying. I know many people who swear by it and can't live without it. I have never tried it myself, but I never say never. I am open to ideas. I think the alternative medicine will become even more popular in the next few years as many see it as a trendy thing to do.

  9. I have nothing against alternative medicine. I used to go to chiropractic, who is also a doctor of natural medicine. After each session with chiropractic, I felt really great and full of energy. He also helped me to cure my hyperthyroidism.
I wish I could stop taking painkillers, but unfortunately I suffer from migraine and so far I did not find another solution to get rid of pain. This article encouraged me to try alternative medicine against my migraine. I will definitely look for alternative therapies to cure my migraine.
